Subhajit Mukherjee, MD, PhD, is a distinguished physician with a remarkable journey that spans continents and medical achievements. Born and raised in the vibrant city of Kolkata, India, he embarked on his medical path at the esteemed Calcutta Medical College, Asia’s oldest medical institution. Driven by a passion for translational medical research and advanced healthcare, he ventured to the United States, where he earned his PhD in inflammatory bowel disease from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York. His pursuit of excellence continued through an internal medicine residency and a gastroenterology fellowship at the world-renowned MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Mukherjee’s motivation to pursue a healthcare career was rooted in a profound desire to impact people’s lives positively. With an unwavering commitment to providing compassionate care and preventing debilitating illnesses, he became a physician. His specialization in gastroenterology was driven by the intricate nature of the field, combining clinical medicine with interventions that can save lives and enhance their quality. His deep interest in managing and curing inflammatory bowel disease has become a driving force within his practice.
As a gastroenterologist and hepatologist, Dr. Mukherjee is characterized by his patient-centric approach.
