CORVALLIS — The Corvallis Clinic has recently been recognized for its commitment to improving the health and wellness of Medicare Advantage patients with the UnitedHealthcare PATH Excellence in Patient Service award.
The Clinic is one of seven providers in Oregon and the only one in the Mid-Willamette Valley to receive the award.
Since 2013, UnitedHealthcare has given this award annually to providers who achieve specific quality measures set out in the PATH
program, which focuses on preventive care for those enrolled in the insurer’s Medicare Advantage plans
These quality measures include:
- The percentages of eligible UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage members who receive a breast cancer screening or colorectal cancer screening.
- The percentage of members with diabetes who receive an eye exam.
- The percentage of members who receive advice from their doctor to maintain or enhance their level of physical activity.
“The health care system is moving away from providers being rewarded based on how many patients they see, how many tests they order and procedures they do,” Clinic CEO Brad Wakefield said, “to a model that rewards quality and positive outcomes. This recognition by UnitedHealthcare shows that Clinic providers are stressing preventive health-care services and the proactive monitoring of chronic conditions.”
The Corvallis Clinic, an independent, physician-led medical group, is a comprehensive multi-specialty organization, serving Benton, Linn and Lincoln counties. It offers more than 100 board-certified providers and advanced professionals in 27 specialties at nine area locations. As the fourth-largest area employer, The Clinic has 600 employees.
