When your doctor requests an x-ray or other imaging tests, it usually can be done in our Imaging Department. It is equipped with state-of-the-art ultrasound, MRI, and bone density units. You can be assured that your test results will be of superior quality for accurate interpretation by your radiologist and doctor.

Many radiology tests can be given at the time of your appointment with your doctor. Others, such as MRI, CT, and Nuclear, usually can be scheduled within a week of seeing your doctor. Most test results are available within 24 hours. Because a radiologist and your doctor must interpret the x-ray and imaging results, we cannot give test results to you by telephone. Patients must see their doctor to receive this information.

MRI

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a test that uses powerful magnets, radio waves, and a computer to make detailed pictures inside your body. Your doctor can use this test to diagnose you or to see how well you’ve responded to treatment. MRIs can be done on different parts of your body.

Our Siemens Magnetom VIDA 3T MRI system makes complex and routine exams faster, easier, and more accurate. It gives your provider more reliable imaging, reducing delays and the need for costly rescans. Its roomier opening lessens claustrophobic feelings, and for some tests, it operates quieter, in some cases completely quiet.

Bone Density

Our Hologic Discovery bone densitometer is one of the most advanced systems available. It improves the accuracy, speed, and convenience of assessing osteoporosis. This instrument measures the bone mineral density (BMD) and provides an instant vertebral assessment (IVA). These tools can help identify those at risk of a future fracture.

Bone density tests are done by referral. Any doctor licensed in Oregon can schedule this test for you, and the results can be interpreted for you by our staff or your physician.

Cardiopulmonary

We perform pulmonary function tests which evaluate breathing capacity, stress testing to monitor heart fitness, blood pressure monitoring, and electrocardiograms (EKG).

CT Scan

A CT (Computed Tomography) scanner employs X-rays to generate cross-sectional images of any part of a patient’s body. Doctors request CT scans to study internal parts of the body, including the chest and brain. CT scans provide greater detail than X-rays, as they can show the shape and exact location of organs, soft tissues, and bones.

X-Ray

An X-ray is a common test used to view the bones, joints, and organs. X-rays use electromagnetic energy to form an X-ray beam, which is focused on a body part. The radiation beam passes through your body and produces an image on film.

Ultrasound (sonography)

Ultrasound imaging uses high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the body’s internal structures. The images are used for either diagnosis or treatment, as well as for guidance during procedures that require intervention, such as biopsies.

Our ultrasound machines produce 3-D and 4-D images. We provide various types of ultrasound services, such as obstetrics and gynecology, abdominal, and cardiovascular.

Nuclear Medicine Camera

Nuclear medicine imaging uses small amounts of radioactive material in the diagnosis and treatment of disease, such as cancer, heart disease; gastrointestinal, endocrine, and neurological disorders; and other abnormalities within the body.

Nuclear medicine procedures are able to pinpoint molecular activity within the body, so they offer the potential to identify disease in its earliest stages as well as a patient’s immediate response to therapeutic interventions.
