Medical Chaperones

Beginning July 1, 2023, the Oregon Medical Board (OMB) has adopted the Oregon Administrative Rule (OAR 847-010-0130) requiring all OMB licensees to offer a chaperone for:

• Any sensitive examination (genital and rectal exam), regardless of gender; and
• Breast examination for patients who identify as female

The Corvallis Clinic, P.C. recently revised the clinic-wide Medical Chaperone Policy to align with the OMB and OAR. While policy changes were prompted by the OAR, which applies to OMB licensees, TCC Board of Directors has included other active Oregon licensees who administer health care to the policy for consistency at our facilities.
