Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (NMM) at The Corvallis Clinic focuses on the relationship between your health and your neuromusculoskeletal system. This includes your muscles, fascia, tendons, ligaments, bones, and internal organs, as well as your nervous, vascular, and lymphatic systems. Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine uses hands-on evaluation and Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) to treat various physical and mental conditions. It is typically well suited for patients with acute and chronic pain.
Patients who may benefit the most from seeing our neuromusculoskeletal providers include those who prefer a hands-on approach that promotes healing from within the body. Our neuromusculoskeletal providers use their hands to move a patient’s joints, muscles, and soft tissues, using stretching, resistance, and gentle pressure. These techniques help the provider detect structural abnormalities in the body related to function. In addition to using their hands, our neuromusculoskeletal providers may prescribe medication and other forms of treatment when indicated.
