CORVALLIS — Jonathan Evans, D.O., has been named the new medical director of The Corvallis Clinic Surgery Center.
Evans, an orthopedic surgeon, will replace John Murphy, DPM, on March 1. Podiatrist Murphy is stepping down after serving eight years as the center’s original medical director.
“I am pleased to be given the opportunity as medical director to help continue the superb care that Clinic physicians and staff have been providing in this top-notch facility,” said Evans, who has been with The Clinic since 2007.
As medical director, Evans will act as a liaison and coordinator working with the center’s employees and medical staff to achieve a smooth operation. He will be responsible for patient care, medical staff relations, performance and quality improvement, and governance and regulatory compliance.
Evans earned his medical degree from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine – Midwestern University and completed his residency at Henry Ford Health Systems/Bicounty Community Hospital in Warren, Mich.
The surgery center, the first of its kind in Benton County when it opened in 2006, features three operating rooms plus two endoscopy suites, as well as pre-operative and recovery areas. The facility, located at 601 NW Elks Drive next The Clinic’s main Asbury Building, is used for a wide range of procedures that do not require an overnight stay. Specialty areas for such procedures include orthopedics, gastroenterology, urology, gynecology, podiatry, otolaryngology and general surgery.
The Corvallis Clinic, an independent, physician-led medical group, is a comprehensive multi-specialty organization, serving Benton, Linn and Lincoln counties. It offers more than 100 board-certified providers and advanced professionals in 27 specialties at nine area locations. As the fourth-largest area employer, The Clinic has 600 employees.
