Julia Preuss, PA-C, was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific University Oregon, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature with a minor in Biology. Before pursuing her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Touro University Nevada, Julia worked as an EMT in Eastern Washington.
Ms. Preuss was inspired to pursue medicine by her pediatrician with “amazing patient care skills” and strives to emulate the same practice of always ensuring that her patients’ issues are addressed and cared for. During her undergraduate studies, Ms. Preuss volunteered at a local hospital, where she enjoyed the setting and her interactions with patients. She decided to pursue a career in primary care because she values building rapport and fostering strong relationships with her patients.
In addition to her interest in general Family Medicine, Ms. Preuss has a strong passion for patient education and strives to provide effective and quality care to all her patients. She has a particular interest in diabetes education, joint injections, and treating dermatologic complaints. She also finds great satisfaction in working with underserved populations, sharing, “I enjoyed working with the homeless and underserved populations of Las Vegas, being able to listen to them and help when otherwise they would have gone without care. All people deserve to be treated with dignity and respect.”
Outside work, Ms. Preuss enjoys the outdoors, live music, traveling, movies, trying new foods, and spending time with her two cats. She also has a background as a ski instructor, having taught for eight years.
