Shashank Bathula, DO, was born in Hyderabad, India, and raised by his grandparents. He then moved to Portland, OR.
From a young age, Dr. Bathula’s parents instilled in him the importance of health, guiding him toward a career in medicine. As a primary care internist, he is at the forefront of preventing and treating chronic illnesses.
Dr. Bathula enjoys meeting and educating patients about their chronic conditions and the underlying pathophysiology.
Dr. Bathula is committed to practicing evidence-based medicine and is enthusiastic about incorporating AI into his practice in today’s rapidly evolving, technology-driven world. He is also a proponent of point-of-care ultrasound and frequently uses his Pocket Ultrasound to enhance patient care.
An experience in Dr. Bathula’s career involved a patient who had developed anxiety due to previous negative interactions with healthcare providers. By building a relationship based on trust and mutual respect, Dr. Bathula helped her overcome her fears and take control of her health.
As a true Oregonian, Dr. Bathula enjoys hiking, backpacking, and camping. He is also an avid fan of the Beavers and Trailblazers.
