Born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, Shivani Gupta, MD, attended Tulane University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Cell and Molecular Biology and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Her passion for understanding the intricacies of the human body led her to Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, where she completed her medical degree. She continued with an Internal Medicine residency at New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center, followed by a Gastroenterology fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
Driven by an early fascination with the sciences, Dr. Gupta’s journey into medicine was marked by an unwavering commitment to studying human anatomy and physiology. Her particular interest in the intricate interactions within organ systems flourished during her intensive training. This fascination culminated in her specialization in gastroenterology, where she was able to perform hands-on procedures like upper endoscopies and colonoscopies. Extending her dedication to patient care, Dr. Gupta focuses on clear communication and tailored treatments.
