Born in Missoula, Montana, and raised in Hull, Massachusetts, Thomas Seastone, DPT, has built his career on a passion for empowering patients in their journey toward improved health and well-being. He completed his undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Montana before embarking on a career in mental health for six years. During this time, he experienced the benefits of physical therapy firsthand following a training injury in Jujitsu, which ignited his interest in this field. Thomas later pursued formal education in physical therapy at the University of Montana, where he met his wife, Amy. Together, they have built a family with three wonderful children and a lively border collie. After graduation, they settled in Sandpoint, Idaho, where Thomas worked in an outpatient clinic for the hospital for 11 years before deciding with his wife to continue their careers in Oregon.
Thomas’s motivation to enter healthcare was evident early in his academic journey. While he was initially drawn to mental health, he found that physical therapy aligned more closely with his philosophy regarding health and treatment, specifically the level of patient empowerment and active participation that physical therapy required. In his practice, patients can expect to be in the driver’s seat, actively working towards their health goals while receiving expert guidance, care, and assistance.
Recognizing that pain and dysfunction are often multifactorial, Thomas strives to build a strong therapeutic alliance with his patients. By understanding his patients’ thoughts, concerns, and shared goals, Thomas fosters trust and delivers earnest, attentive, and knowledgeable care. He takes great pride in helping patients regain their quality of life and reach their fullest potential.
Thomas enjoys an active lifestyle outside work, spending quality time with his family, hiking, and trail running with their border collie, Daisy. He is an enthusiastic bow hunter and has a love for fishing in its various forms. In his downtime, he indulges in watching mixed martial arts and football and supporting his children in their sports endeavors.
