CORVALLIS — Whether you are an experienced runner of just getting started, get tips from knowledgeable providers to help maximize your performance and minimize injury risk by attending the Prep for the Health of It! free workshops at The Corvallis Clinic on Aug. 29 and Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 26. This race prep series is being held in conjunction with The Corvallis Clinic Inaugural 5K Run/Walk For The Health of It! To register for the run/walk, go to Run For The Health of IT!
The workshops will start at 6:30 p.m. and take place at The Corvallis Clinic Asbury Building in Dining Room B, 3680 NW Samaritan Drive, Corvallis. Parking will be available in the lot behind the Asbury Building. Enter from Elks Drive and use the back right door to enter Dining Room B.
The workshops entail a 20-minute presentation of practical tips and then a 60-minute practice of the principles learned. Please wear workout clothes.

- 29, 6:30 p.m. – Overall Race and Running Preparation – Michael Johnson, Track and Field Coach, Western Oregon University
- 5, 6:30 p.m. – Foot Biomechanics 101: Running Shoes, John Murphy, DPM, Podiatrist, The Corvallis Clinic, and Chris Smith, Owner, Five Star Sports
- 12, 6:30 p.m. – Physical Foundation: Strength, Flexibility and Control – Paul Jaques, DPT, OCS, CSCS, Physical Therapist, The Corvallis Clinic
- 19, 6:30 p.m. – Prevent Running Injuries – Matt Taylor, M.D., Sports Medicine Physician, The Corvallis Clinic
- September 26, 6:30 p.m. – Race Day Prep – Lisa Ochman, DPT, CLT, and Emily Antonishen, DPT, Physical Therapists, The Corvallis Clinic
