Sohyun Park, PA-C, was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea until she was 13 and immigrated to Beaverton, Oregon with her family. She completed her undergraduate studies at Pacific University, majoring in biology and art, before gaining valuable experience as a medical scribe in the ER. This hands-on experience deepened her passion for medicine, leading her to pursue further studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. There, she refined her clinical skills by rotating through a variety of clinics and hospitals.
Sohyun’s motivation to pursue a healthcare career is deeply rooted in her experience as a first-generation immigrant. She has witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals who lack access to quality healthcare due to resource limitations and language barriers. This drove her to dedicate herself to making a meaningful impact on the lives of underserved populations.
Her interest in Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) stems from the specialty’s ability to address various concerns affecting individuals of all ages. As a physician associate, she enjoys providing both outpatient and procedural approaches to treating patients and assisting in procedures such as laryngoscopy, earwax removal, biopsies, and diagnostic tests.
Believing in the power of effective patient education, Sohyun ensures that her patients fully understand their medical conditions and treatment plans. She is dedicated to tailoring her communication to meet each patient’s unique needs and preferences, ultimately empowering them to actively participate in their healthcare journey. She aspires to be described by her patients as a caring and knowledgeable ENT physician associate who prioritizes their well-being.
Outside of her professional pursuits, Sohyun enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and discovering the beauty of Oregon’s diverse landscapes. One of her favorite destinations, especially during the summer, is Cannon Beach, including a stop at Tillamook for their famous ice cream.
